CRIME PUNISHED
SUPREME COURT SENTENCES TERMS OF IMPRISONMENT "On his record, this man has qualified to be declared an habitual criminal, but the probation officer reports that since the accused -came out of prison last December he appears to have pursued a reputable living," said Mr. Justice Callan in the Supreme Court yesterday, when sentencing George James Cullen, clerk, aged 38, (Mr. Aekins), to 12 months' imprisonment with hard labour on charges of forging and uttering a cheque for £6 17s. He was convicted and discharged on a count of false pretences. Sentences of two years' imprisonment with hard labour on each of six charges of indecent assault upon a female, and on two charges of assault upon a male, were imposed upon David Vincent Andrews, aged 35, single. The sentences are to be concurrent.
