WAITEMATA GATHERING The final meeting for the year ol the Waitemata electorate committee ofthe National Party, held at Albany, was attended by a large number oi delegates and workers in tho recent campaign. Mr. J. D. Vernon presided, and with him on the platform were Mr, J. E. Closo, the party's candidate for Waitemata, Sir. It. H. Marryatt, tha organiser, the chairmen of branches, and the members of the electorate executive and candidate'si committees, Captain J. A. Lambden congratulated the electorate on cibe good fight made by Mr. Close, who was welcomed with musical honours and received an ovation. Mr. Close paid a tribute to tha efforts ot the committees and branches and all who had worked lor tho party. Mr. J. O'Neill said the work of tha women's branch of tho party had been an inspiration. On behalf of the executive, the electorate chairman, Mr. J. D. Vernon, was presented with a gold watch, and with a wallet on behalf of tho branches. A handbag was presented to Miss G. Williams, of Takapuna, president of the women's division of tho Waitemata branch of tho National Pirtv. * Supper was served by the iadics ofi 'the Albany lira rich.
