ANNIVERSARY OF STRIKE
CEREMONY AT WAIHI A ceremony of a non-religious nature will be held at tho graveside of the late Mr. Frederick George Evans in Waikaraka Cemetery on Saturday morning to commemorate the strike which occurred at Waihi on November 12. 1912. Mr. Evans was an enginedriver who was fatally injured during the strife, which involved strikers, police and townspeople. Colleagues of Mr. Evans will participate in the service, and a wreath will be laid on the grave by Mr. F, G. Young, [iresident of the Auckland District Council of tho Federation of Labour. In addition to Mr. Young, speakers will include tho Minister of Public Works, the Hon. R. Semple, and tho Hon. E. Dye, M.L.C.. who was associated with the Waihi Miners' Union at the time of the strike. The ceremony will begin at 10.30 a.m.
