MAGISTRATE'S FINDING [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON", Wednesday A finding that negligence could not fairly bo attributed to the quarry foreman was given by Mr. W. F. Stilwell, S.M., as a result of the magisterial inquiry into the Moa Point quarry blast* ine accident on September 27 r which resulted in the death of Mr. Frederick Charles Liddy. Mr. Liddy was struck by a flying piece of rock. The magistrate said the foreman thought, and so did all the men, that the distance to which they retired nag a safe o,ne. Many of the men had had lone quarry experience, and one was a union delegate.
