"THE DESERT SONG"
SEASON ENDS .TO-NIGHT The final performance of the J. 0. Williamson Royal Comic Opera Company's New Zealand tour will be given ■jr. at His Majesty's Theatre to-night when "Thei D&sert Song" will be presented. The company sails for Australia tomorrow. Packed audiences have received "The Desert Song" with the utmost enthusiasm during the three nights that the production hag been presented in Auckland, and there is no doubt that this opera is exceedingly popular with New Zealand audiences. The role of the Red Shadow is taken by George Hancock and Diana Ducane takes the,part of Margaret Bonvalet. Others.-.in the strong cast are Violet Carlson, as Susan; Don Nicol, as Benjamin Kjdd; and Gaston Mervale, ;as General Birabeau. A feature of the opera, is .the excellent work of the chorus and ballet.
