NOT AFRAID OF WAR

CONFIDENCE OF ITALY DEMOCRACIES ASSAILED SIGNOR GAYDAS ARTICLE (Received October 25, 5.5 p.m.) ROME, Oct. 04 Writing in II Giorntile d'ltalia, Signor Gayda says: "Italy is not afraid of war or of armaments which can be judged both qualitatively and quantitatively. Italy would rely on t her Air Force, her submarines and certain very deadly and astounding secret weapons.

"The British and French war fever directed against Italy, Germany and Japan cannot pass unnoticed because of its contrast to the spirit of the Munich agreement. I deplore the selfish spirit of Versailles, which is destroying hope of European appeasement."
