INSTITUTE AFFAIRS
Auckland Centre. —Mrs. Xeal presided at the monthly meeting, Remits for the annual council meeting were discussed. The convenor of the nrt,s and crafts circle, Miss Shepherd, gavo an account of the recent exhibition of handwork, and thanked the members who had given assistance. A programme was presented by members of the singing circle. Mrs. Brady demonstrated paper-rope basketry, and Mrs. Hothery floral art. The drama circle reported having given entortainmcntß at country meetings. Hobsonville. —A demonstration of and a, talk oil ft cruise to the Pacific Islands was given by Miss Phillips, of Kaipara, at the monthly meeting of the institute. The monthly flower competition was won by Mrs, H. Oekleeton, with Mrs. W. Ockleston secondPapatoctoe. —There was a good attendance at the monthly meeting, at which Mrs. Barker presided. Mrs. Tennant gave a talk 011 the Food Value League, and items were given by Mrs. Wainwright and Miss Kingsford. Competitions wero won by Mrs. Pennell and Mrs. Pine. Albany.—-An address was given by Colonel E- R. Sawer at the monthly moetinfj. Mrs. Schofield presided. The competition for the best decorated pudding plate was won by Miss Schofield, with Mrs. Smith second.
