WELSH SOCIETY
SOCIAL EVENING HELD The monthly meeting of the Auckland Welsh Society was held in the Overseas League rooms recently. The vice-president, Mr. D. R. Davies, presided. Sympathy was extended to the president, Mr. T. E. Price, in his recent bereavement, the audience standing as a mark of respect. An excellent programme was given by the following:—Songs, Messrs. Wright, Hart, Turner, Norman; flute solos, Mr. Hal McLennan; 'cello solos, Mr. Thorn; humorous items, Mr. Hill; magic, Mr. O'Brien; elocution, Mr. Carter. The accompanists were Mrs. Carter and Mr. Potter. Welsh community singing and supper brought an enjoyable evening to a close. The supper hostesses were Mrs. Lloyd, Mrs. Stoodley, Misses B. and G. Morris.
