ROAD COLLISION
13 PASSENGERS ON LORRY FOUR SUFFER FROM SHOCK [BT TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION] PALMERSTON NORTH, Tuesday Two adults and two children were taken to hospital for examination as the outcome of a collision between a motor-car and a light delivery lorry on the Foxton Line, near Magaone Stream. The injured were:—Mrs. Edith Johansen. Mrs. Hita Gore, Elaine Gore, aged two, and Ruby Fairey, aged 10. Three adults and 10 children were passengers on the lorry, which was driven by Mr. Douglas Albert Gore, of Newbury Line. The car was driven by Mr. Alfred Wright Adcock, of Palrnerston North. It is understood the accident occurred while one vehicle was passing the other, both being driven in the same direction. One of the rear wheels of the lorry was smashed and collapsed completely, the children being thrown on to the road. The four passengers examined at the hospital are understood to have been suffering from shock, but were not admitted.
