CRASH INTO POLE

MILK DELIVERY VAN EXTENSIVE DAMAGE DONE A light delivery truck was extensively damaged when it collided with a telegraph pole in Mays Road, Onehunga, early yesterday morning, snapping the pole off about 4ft. from the ground. Owned by Mr. E. J. Johnson, inilk vendor, of Epsom, the van was engaged in delivering milk when the accident occurred, and the whole of the morning's supply was lost. Practically the whole of the front portion of the truck was wrecked, and the engine forced back into the body. Part of the front bumper was embedded in the pole, and the instrument panel was warped and broken by the impact. Repairs to the pole were effected by a gang of workers shortly before 10 o'clock yesterday morning.
