TWO-YEAR-OLDS GO FAST OUR JEAN AND MISS EUREKA GOOD HALF-MILE BY PENZANCE Honours at Taltanini yesterday morning wont to Our Joan (Coleman) and Miss Eureka (E. Smith), a pair of maiden two-year-olds from W. Townsend's stable. The middle grass track was in good order after the breakfast hour. With a wind behind thorn in the run homo and from a galloping start, Townsond's pair registered 23 4-os for two furlongs. They are making great advancement in their racing preparation. Another good gallop for those of minor class at the late session was that of Gay Opal (Coleman), Loch Mara (Machcl) and lion Star (E. Smith). With the first-named in front, 37 2-5s was registered 'from the three-furlong disc. 13on Star, who lost a few lengths, was right up on their quarters at tho finish. Romani (Eatwell), who is making headway, was another lato worker who impressed by running half a mile in 49 2-ss, the last threo in 36 4-ss, while True Bill (Curwen), doing his best, recorded 50s. from the milo to tho fourfurlong disc. Early Trials Most of the work was done before the breakfast hour, when tho track was slower. Penzance claimed the best time at this period by running half a mile from the mile to tho four furlongs in 48 3-ss. Invor (Bartlo) and Hot Box (Inglis) were together at the end of five furlongs in 1.4. Paddy the Rip (Bartle) and Valamito (Inglis) finished together in the same time. Pleuron (Beguley) recorded 1.5 1-5. Gay Movie (Curwen) was not doing her best to cover five furlongs in 1.7 3-5. She is very well. Pound Up (Smith) and Arvakur (Collett) were at close quarters over five furlongs run in 1.5 3-5. Milanion (Beguley) and High Sea (Parkinson) completed six furlongs comfortably in 1.26. Brilliant Acre (Mellroy) hit out - boldly over a mile. Three-lurlong Dashes To Poto (Collett), who is improved in appearance if not in deportment, ran homo from the three-furlongs disc in 38 2-ss. This effort was equalled by Princess Val (Smith) who is bright and fit. Poker Dice (Coleman), who is coming into racing shape, registered 395, while Little Star (Coleman) had nothing in reserve in running 39 l-ss. Lady Fox (Walters) required 40s. Orelio (Bartle) was hitting out freely at the close of his task to run 37 4-ss. Hunting Capo (Coleman) also sprinted three furlongs well. Grateful (Inglis) was given useful work over a mile and a-quarter, the last mile in 1.49, and the last three in 40s. Hunter's Rose (Smith) beat Inquisitor (Quedley) over half a mile in 52 2-ss. Palustre (Hatwell) had no difficulty in recording 50 4-5s for half a mile. Trials on the Plough On the plough, Anion hit out freely to register 41s for the last three furlongs of useful work. Estro, Bronze Trail and Bronwen were at close quarters to run 51s at tho end of half a mile, the last three furlongs in 395. It took Golden Spahi (Calder) 1.11 to cover five furlongs. Maxam again showed a tendency to go faster than allowed in solid work. She looks ready for early engagements. Bachelor King (Tinker) and Miss Lovelock (Walters) worked over a couple of circuits, sprinting up the straight on each occasion. Parquet, Royevrus, Valimeen and Mia Acrea were others given useful tasks on this track. High Quality returned limping, and it seems no easy task to get him ready for racing.
