AUSTRALIANS DREAD LOSS EXHIBITS FOR SAN FRANCISCO [from oub own correspondent] SYDNEY, Oct. 18 Considerable ; agitation has beon caused among Australian naturalists by a proposal- of the National Travel (or tourist promotion) Association to ship a consignment of koalas (native bears), wallabies, wombats, echidnas and parrots to the Golden Gate Exposition. San Francisco, to be opened next February. Chief public concern is for the koala, for the teddy benr is the most popular of native animals with tourists from abroad as well as Australians. The koalas would have to be fed on gum leaves (manna gums) kept in cold storage. Experts are fulminating against any action that will send them to death. Australia's exhibit will be a good but the Federal Government has forbidden the inclusion of the beautiful little bear.
