JHE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE market reopens quietly Business resumed fairly quietly on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday after the holiday break. Australian industrials dominated the market, while the weakness in New Zealand issues was in marked contrast. There .was a fairly good inquiry for inscribed stock. Among the banks. Commercials of Australia eased, but the preference issue showed an advance in a transfer. Holders of New Zealands were content to lake the current level. Kates for South British Insurance were a shade firmer, but buyers for ]\'ew Zcalands were still absent, in epite of concessions bv hold, is, Auckland Ci as and Dcvonport I'e ,- ry both yielded ground. A feature of the miscellaneous industrials was the strength of Australian Glass. Colonial Sugars also were taken at an advance. Broken Hill l'ioprietary and Dunlop-l'erdriaus, however, were marked down. Imperial Chemicals again found willing buyers, Zealand industrials v. ere dull.
