OBITUARY

MR. A. • B. CAMPBELL LONG LEGAL CAREER [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] NAPIER, Tuesday The death has occurred of Mr. Alexander Bidwer Campbell, agedß3years, an active member of the Napier legal firm of Sainsbury, Logan and Williams sinco 1902 almost up to the time of his death. Mr. Campbell was a brother of the late Colonel G. F. C. Campbell, controller and auditor-general. He was educated at Nelson College and was for a number of years with Mr. F. Earle, K.C., in Auckland before coming to Napier in 1902. Mr. Campbell had been an all round athlete. He represented Wellington at Rugby from 1875 to 1880. He was the oldest surviving pupil of Nelson College. He leaves a -widow, two sons and three daughters.

KB. A. W. MOSELEN The death occurred yesterday of Mr. Alfred William Moselen, at the age of 80. He was at one time-in the clerical division of the Railway Department, being stationed at Newmarket, Onehunga, Penrose and Inglewood. Mr. Moselen was well known in Auckland musical circles, and for some years he took part in the work of the Auckland Amateur Operatic Society and the Auckland Choral Society. Ho was an active member of the Methodist Church, and for a number of years was choirmaster at the Onehunga Methodist Church. His wife predeceased him about a year ago. He leaves two sons and six daughters. There are 39 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. MB. WILLIAM PEBBIS [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Tuesday The death has., occurred of Mr. William Ferris, aged 61, of Tauwhare. Born in Victoria, Australia, Mr. Ferris came to New Zealand in 1903 and settled in Dunedin.. He later came to the Waikato and took up farming at Tauwhare, He is survived by his wife, two sons and two daughters. MB. J. 0. JOHNSTONE [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Tuesday The death has occurred of Mr. John Campbell Johnstone, aged 43. of Taotaoroa, Cambridge. Mr. Johnstone, who was the eldest son of the late Mr. Campbell Johnstone, of Whatawhata, was born at Okete. He served with tJhe Waikato Mounted Rifles in Egypt and Palestine 4 and was invalided home. After fanning at Whatawhata, Mr. Johnstone moved to the Cambridge district, where he lived until the time of his death.

Mr. Johnstone was a prominent member or the Auckland Acclimatisation Society in the Cambridge district. Ho took a keen interest in Rugby football, playing for the United Club in Hamilton while at Whatawhata. He is survived by his wife, one son and two daughters.

ME. T. N. FLETCHER [BT TELEGRAPH —OWN* CORRESPONDENT] TAT7RANGA, Tuesday The death has occurred of Mr. Thomas IVoton Fletcher, aged 68. Born in Manchester, he was in early life in the employ of the Medieval Art Metal Works and subsequently was encaged on his own account r.s a general and nautical engineer. Thirty years ago he came to Xew Zealand and was employed in engineering work for A. and G. Price, Limited, at Thames. About that time he invented a milking machine which is still in useful service, more especially in Australia. About 20 years ago Mr. Fletcher purchased a property on the Cambridge Road, near Tauranga, and was farming there for a long period. He retired to Tauranga two years ago. His wifo predeceased him.
