THE* ANNUAL REPORT GOOD PROGRESS SHOWN TRIBUTE TO PRESIDENT An increase both in brandies and membership is shown in tho report of the Auckland Provincial League of Mothers to be presented at the annual meeting this morning. The new branches formed are at Waihi. Tc Puke and making a total of 48 branches, with a membership of H 077, of which 278 are new members. The magazine, states the report, is being taken by 39 branches. The president and secretary have visited 10 branches during the past year. "We feel that these visits have been the means of cementing the link

between town and country and undoubtedly country members derive great benefit from these visits," the report continues. The president, Mrs. S. 0. English, will retire to-day after six years' service to the league. A tribute to her unselfish devotion to the cause is paid in the report, which states that during her term of office the league has grown and has been strengthened by her wisdom, her personality and her enthusiasm.
