RATES INCREASED

LEAMINGTON TOWN BOARD [from oub own correspondent] CAMBRIDGE, Sunday A revaluation of the Leamington Town District has reduced the capital value by £30,976, with the result that an increase of fd has been necessary in the rate. At the monthly meeting of the town board the general rate was increased from l|d to lid, with, an interest rate of 7-16 d. Under the new valuation the total capital value is shown as £118,929, compared with the previous figure of £149,905. The board approved of the estimates for the current financial year. General receipts are expected to produce £953 and rates £lO9l, a total of £2044. This amount balances with estimated expenditure.
