SCHOOL JUBILEE
DANCE AT TIRAU SUCCESSFUL FUNCTION PAST PUPILS CELEBRATE A fitting finale to the golden jubilee celebrations held this week by the Tirau School was the jubilee dance, which took place in the Tirau Town Hall. The function was attended by about -!00 people, who included many visiting old pupils. lied and gold, the school colours, predominated in the attractive decorative scheme. Outlined in streamers the jubilee words, ''Welcome, Tirau School," made a striking contrast against the dark background of the hall. Masses! of greenery transformed the stage, where bowls of lovely flowers gave an attractive note. The committee comprised:—Mi. H. Amoore (secretary), Mr. D. Allen, Mr. G. Shaw, Mr. D. Bottomlcy, Mr. H. Goodwin, Mr. M. Strong, Mrs. J. Kinnear, who wore a frock of black georgete and lace; Mrs. S J. Bear, in brown nietelasse; Miss A. Hetberington, black ninon; Miss L. Strong, brown velvet and gold lame; Miss A. Goodwin, blue French erepe; Miss J. Allen, black velvet and silver sequins; Miss J. Goodwin, green marquisette; Miss 1?.
