FRANKLIN RACING CLUB ALL OFFICERS RE-ELECTED [fiiom our own correspondent] PUKEKOHE, Thursday Tlio retiring officers of the Franklin Racing Club have been re-elected unopposed, they being the only candidates j when nominations closed at 12 noon toI day. They are: —President, Mr. F. A. • Hosking; vice-president, Mr. R. Fuli ton; committeemen, Messrs. J. 13eattv, I A. F. Brown, S. J. Clews, G. Carter, ! W. T. Da/.eloy, J. Hall, A. Jones, J. : N. Massey, F. G. Parker, J. J. Rey- ! nolds, P. L. Short and J. Mclntyro. They will he declared re-elected at the annual meeting. This is the first occoj sion for some years that a ballot has [not been required. I TURF JOTTINGS i TRACK AND STABLE ITEMS One of the promising juveniles, in work at Ellerslie is the full-sister to Dutch Girl, by Vaals from Miss Mclva, A well-topped filly and a nice mover she is progressing very attractively. Philcourt and Jonathan have been taken in hand again by W. J. McLean at Ellerslie. Philcourt has thickened out into a handsome colt and is expected to he a high-class performer in the new season. The rising two-year-old gelding by Kincardine— Marchaway in W. Kirk's i charge lias been named Stonehaven. He is making satisfactory progress, but is an overgrown youngster, and will not be seen out early in the season. After an enforced let-up duo to an injury received while schooling, Tlliniani has resumed work again tinder L J. Jillings. The Illumination gelding looks in great order and, although a disappointment on the Hat, ho has displayed some promise as a jumper. The Cashmere Plato at Riecarton ' marked the only success of Great' Pal 1 prior to his two wins at Trentham. He j is held on lease by his trainer, G. A. ' Fielding, who holds an option of purI chase from his breeder, Mr. J. Carter, Dunedin. Great Pal has started only a dozen times, although he is rising seven years.
