COMMITTEE'S REPORT
APPROVAL OF PRINCIPLES STATEMENT BY CHAIRMAN [by TF.l.r,graph —wixiATi nrcvoitTKit] \V ELLIN OTO N, Tli u rsday A report which approved of the principles of the Education Amendment Hill, but beyond that was non-com-mittal, was presented to the House of Representatives to-dav by the recess education committee which heard evidence on the measure during the recent Parliamentary recess. The bill was introduced just before the end of last session, but consideration of it was deferred so that it could be circulated to interested organisations.
Reporting to the House to-day the chairman of the committee, Mr. C. Ij. Carr (Government—Tinuiru) said the committee had heard extensive cadence on the bill, and, after a careful consideration of its provisions, approved of the principles embodied in it. The committee reterrcd the matter to the Government and recommended that the bill should be re-introduced this session "with such alterations, amendments and modifications as were suggested by the proceedings ln-fore the committee." .. The report was laid on the table ot the House, together with a copy of the evidence submitted to the committee.
