ACCUSED OF SPYING
LETTER TO VON LUCKNER MELBOURNE STUDENTS' ACT INCIDENT AT LECTURE (Received July 7, 12.30 a.m.) MELBOURNE. July « University students to-day presented to Count von Luckner an open letter in which they accused him of visiting Australia for the purpose of espionage. The letter savs, inter alia: "When you deliver your report to Hitler, do not forget to tell him of the growing world opposition to Fascism. Warn Hitler, in case he does not kr.ow, that he is out on a limb which is going to break fairlv soon."
The students' letter wan handed to Count von Luckner when he arrived to address them, for a fee of £5 ss, under the auspices of the Society for International Relations. Count von Luckner outwitted 500 Communists who intended to demonstrate when he arrived at the Tivoli Club to-night to address members of the German colonv in Melbourne. The demonstrators arrived early, but the Count was earlier and was inside tho building when the demonstration began. The police broke up the crowd and arrested seven men.
