BOBBY CALF POOLS
DEFINITION OF AREAS GREATER CLARITY NEEDED [from our owx correspondent] ... HAMILTON, Wednesday A statement that tho formation and protection of bobby calf pools throughout the Auckland district were being delayed owing to the irregular manner in which the boundaries of the pool areas were being defined, was made today by Mr. H. Inneiii, of the Internal Marketing Department. Mr. Tnnes said that many of the promoters merely named cartage routes when making their application for protection, while it was necessary to clearly define the areas in which the pools should operate. He suggested that the promoters should consult county clerks and ask them to assist in defining tho areas with the aid of county maps. He had had to make a special trip from Wellington to help promoters define their areas.
Mr. Innes added that tho Auckland and Manawatu districts wore becoming well organised with respect to bobby calf pools, while so far nothing had been done in Tarana'ki or Southland. Applications for the protection of between 30 and 40 pools had been received.
