SUCCESSFUL GALLOPERS LATE MR. ALEXANDER'S HORSES , Among 'the horses raced by the late Mr. A. Alexander, of New Plymouth, were Silver Link, Bisogne, Silvermine and Bonny Efelon. Silver Link, the champion sprinter of her day, was a great favourite with Auckland racegoers. Among the races she won at Ellerslie were the Easter, Railway, Shorts, County, Huia and Electric Handicaps. She also included in her record ■ the North Island Challenge Stakes, Manawatu, Taranaki and Hawke's Bay Stakes, and several other rich handicap races.

Her daughter, Silvermine, who was bred and raced by Mr. Alexander, won 16 races, including the Canterbury Jockey Club Stewards' Handicap, the Thompson and Pearce Handicaps at Treritham, the Plunket Handicap .at Ellerslie twice and the Tonks Stakes at New Plymouth twice. • • - Bonny Helen, who won the New Zealand Oaks in 1913 and the C.J.C., Metropolitan in the following year, Mas a good and versatile performer, while Bisogne is still the lioldei of the weight record for a winner of the A.R.C. Royal Stakes. He carried 9.10 to victory* in 1917. Bisogne subsequently made his name as a sire of useful galloperß.
