West Coast Sunset

DEAR ANNE SHIRLEY,—I have a lovely pony named "Morgan," who has won many prizes. Killing/ is my favourite hobby, and naturally, all my spare tinio is spent in the saddle. 1 hunt wilb the l'akuranga from May until August, and 1 am eagerly looking forward to the opening of another season. „ , , 1 am also very fond of drawing, ana onlv wish i had more time to do some sketches. I plav quite a fair amount of tennis, for I think it such good exercise. , „ We have a bach at Piha, \\ est Coast, and 1 love to go down there and surf, and tramp up the valley. We have a lovely stream running through our property, and every time t see at, l reminds me of ''lhe Jirook, bv I'ennvson. The wonderful bush scenes are enough to inspire the very heart ot inv poet. The tall kauris rise like onelv sentinels, guarding the peace ot the valleys for miles around One of the most beautitul sights 1 lave ever experienced was the sun letting over the Tasman one Saturday light. Like a great golden ball it sank o rest on the cloud-banked horizon. Miting up the great masses above it vith scarlet, lemon and bright orange, md flashing a fiery message of K »nmis--ICss across the heavens before leaung is to the dusk, which gives way to the lark and lonely nijrht. , I have never seen anything to equal his sight, although the go den dawn ch makes ones heait lift, a, th iglit breaks on another clav, is alma. If inspiring.—Yours sincerely, Marorie Court, Ellerslie.
