RIPA ISLAND FOET COUNT VON LUCKNER RULE MUST BE OBSERVED [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION*] CHRISTCHURCH, MonSay Final arlvico has been received by Count Felix von Luckner from the Minister of Defence, the Hon. F. Jones, that he will not be permitted to visit Pi pa Island, where he was imprisoned for 119 days during the war. In a telephone conversation to-day the Minister made it clear to Count von Luckner that the rule prohibiting civilians on the island must apply to him. Count von Luckner expressed regret that he would not be able to see again the place in which he was imprisoned, but said he appreciated the difficulty with which the Minister was faced. It was a great disappointment, but it could not be helped.
