SUCCESSFUL STUDENTS
AWARDS AND SCHOLARSHIPS The Wilson and Horton Prize for the best student in the journalism class at Auckland University College last year was awarded to Mr. F. Fleming, of Auckland, on the recommendhtion of the lecturer, Mr. R. H. Melville, at the meeting of the college council yesterday. No recommendation was made for an award for the Sir Cecil Leys Prize for the best essay written by a student in the journalism class. Three entries were received. The council decided to refer the matter of the essay prize to the professorial board for consideration. The Chamber of Commerce Scholarship for students from the school of commerce was awarded to Mr. D. S. Cox. Mr. D'Arcy Walker, holder of the Sir George Grey Scholarship, who has been granted a senior scholarship in physics, resigned his Sir George Grey Scholarship, which has now been granted to Mr. W. F. Chappell.
