PORT OF AUCKLAND

THE EMPRESS OF BRITAIN

The largest merchant ship to visit tho port, the Canadian-Pacific Steamships liner Empress of Britain, will arrive this morning on a world cruise and will berth at Prince's Wharf between T.'M and eight o'clock. She will sail at ,") p.in. 011 Good Friday for Suva. After being delayed 21 hours by a storm in the Tasinan, the Union Company's liner Awatca will arrive from Sydney this morning and berth at Queen's Wharf about eight o'clock. She will sail at five o'clock this afternoon on her return. The South Pacific Line motor-ship Maptsuycker, from Saigon, via Eastern ports, will reach port at noon to-day with It) passengers for Auckland. She is expected to sail at 10 o'clock tonight for Wellington, Sydney and the East. With basic slag from Antwerp, via Kingston, the Port Line steamer Port Hunter will arrive this afternoon and berth at King's Wharf. WAIOTAPU WITH WHEAT With wheat to Government charter the Union Company's steamer Waiotauu left Williamstown, Melbourne, on Friday night for Auckland, where she is due on Saturday. . » THE PORT S AIN'T JOHN Arriving yesterday morning from Halifax the new M.A.N.Z. Line motor-ship Port Saint John berthed at King's Wharf. She will move this afternoon to Q'ueen's Wharf and sail on Thursday for Wellington. MARIPOSA CLEARS SUVA Arriving yesterday morning from San Francisco, the Matson liner Mariposa left Suva in the afternoon for Auckland, where she will arrive at seven o'clock on Thursday morning. The Mariposa will sail for Sydney at five o'clock the same afternoon. THE PORT DENISON The departure for New Plymouth of the Port Line steamer Port Denison, at Central Wharf, has been postponed until this morning. On completion of discharge of basic slag at New Plymouth the Port Denison will begin loading, and she should return to Auckland about April 21. AUSTRALIAN CARGOES The Union Company's steamer Kakapo is now expected here from Sydney to-morrow. The steamer Kekerangu should clear Port Kcmbla to-day for Auckland, where she is due on Sunday. The Omana is expected to leave Melbourne on Saturday for Auckland, arriving about April 2*l. RONA AND FIONA Tho Colonial Sugar Company's steamer Rona, discharging sugar from Java at Chelsea, should sail on Thursday for Sydney. A large Quantity of machinery for Suva will now be taken from Auckland by the company's steamer Fiona, which left Sydney for Auckland on Friday and is expected about Thursday.
