CLAY-BIRD SHOOTING
AUCKLAND GUN CLUB Auckland Gun Club held a clay-bird shoot on its grounds at Pakuranga on Saturday. The results were:— Seven-birds Eye-opener.—R. Grierson (11yds), R. 11. Hartley (14yds), E. P. Wells (15yds), L. Bedford (13yds), C. Bovil (14yds), W. Turner (18yds), L. Strain (11yds), A. Sommervillo (11yds) F. Scccombe (14yds), each shot the possible. Fifteen Birds Handicap Match, for a club trophy, open to club members and visitors.— L. Henderson (15yds), L. Bedford (14yds) and C. E. Hodge (18yds) each shot the possible. In the shoot-off Bedford dropped the 16th bird and Henderson the 35th bird, Hodge securing his to win the trophy. Six others shot 14 birds. Seven Birds Gimciack.—A. E. Macredie (13yds to 25yds), C. Bovil (13yds to 25yds), E. Cathcart (12yds to 24yds), E. Monteith (12yds to 24yds), L. Strain (I lyds to 23yds), W. Turner (14yds to 26yds), and Jj. Bedford (12,vds to 24yds) each shot the possible. Ten Birds Double Rise.—W. Turner (15yds) shot nine birds; A. E. Macredie (14yds) and F. Seccombe (13yds) each shot eight birds. • N
