ASSOCIATION WORK
Y.W.C.A. CLUB ACTIVITIES Members of the Good Companions Club met this week for a tennis party at the home of Miss Mary Cole, Oneh'unga. After play they inspected curios which she brought back from her recent trip to the East. In the evening, members met for their club programme, when arrangements were made for a picnic on Easter Monday. Two of tho club members, Misses Leta Taylor and Joy Harwood, lvere farewelled when they left on the Niagara for Sydney on Tuesday. The Business Girls' Fraternity met on Tuesday, when a large group continued with basket work under the instruction of Miss Jones, 'lhe group for floral art continues each Tuesday, when the girls learn to make floral sprays and posies of natural flowers. The dressmaking class began this week and the girls are making anything from gymnasium shorts to evening dresses under the direction of Miss Walker. Basketball practice is being held each Tuesday night for Y.W.C.A. players. Miss Miles, secretary of the Auckland Basketball Association, has been acting as adviser and coach. Hockey players are also very keen and have commenced training on Saturdays. Players are looking forward to the visit of the English team to Auckland, which should do much to advance the following of the sport. The Kia Ora Club had a most successful card evening, when 10 tables were engaged for progressive flag bridge.
