GIFT TO HIS MAJESTY CORONATION SERVICE PRESENTATION OF PAINTING LONDON. March 25 Tho presentation to the King of Mr. Frank Salisbury's painting of the Coronation service in Westminster Abbey as a gift from "the Prime Ministers of Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa was marked by delightful informality. The joainting was given bv the Prime Ministers "as a tribute of loyalty and affection from the peoples of the Dominions whom they represent."The King and Queen and the two Princesses were present. The latter were delighted that they were so clearly shown alongside Queen Mary. Each of the High Commissioners read a message from his Prime Minister, and all highly praised the painting. The Prime Ministers' autographs will be added at a subsequent showing at the Royal Academy. . a The picture already bears the inscription: "Presented as a token of the loyalty and affection of Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South"Africa." PALACE FUNCTION KING ACCEPTS PICTURE SOUTH AFRICA'S SEALS British Wireless KUGBY, March 25 The painting of the Coronation service was presented to Their Majesties at Buckingham Palace by the High Commissioners. In making the presentation the senior High Commissioner, Mr. Vincent Massey (Canada) handed to the King a letter signed by the four Dominion Prime Ministers: Mr. \Y. L. Mackenzie King, Mr. J. A. Lyons, Mr, M. J. Savage and General J. B. M. Hertzog. In accepting the picture on behalf of the Queen and himself, the King expressed his intention of writing a personal letter of thanks to each of the four Prime Ministers. His Majesty took the opportunity to hand to Mr. C. T. te Water, High-Com-missioner for South Africa, the four seals of the Union—the Great Seal, the Wafer Seal, the Seal and the Royal Signet. The "seals were first presented to the Union by King George V. in July, 1934. A new series is struck for each successive reign.
