OFFICER FAREWELLED
COLONEL R. MILES HONOURED
' Members of the Auckland Officers' Club tendered a farewell dinner on Saturday to Colonel 11. Miles, who will leave Auckland next Saturday for London to enter the Imperial Defence College. Numerous speakers conveyed to Colonel Miles the best wishes of his New Zealand friends for his future success. Among those who proposed toasts and offered farewell messages to Colonel Miles were Lieutenant-Colonel 1?. 0. Milligan, who presided. Colonel C. 11. Spragg, Captain L. P. Learv, Commander C. <33. Tinlcy, officer in charge of the Devonport naval base, and ■Flight-Lieutenant A. G. Lester, officer commanding the Hobsonville air base. Items were given by Major P. E. Sutherland, Lieutenant-Colonel T. H Dawson and Mr. Alan McElwain.
