LADY GALWAY'S TRIBUTE DOMINION CONFERENCE [by TELEGRAPH PRESS association] WELLINGTON, Thursday The Plunket Society conference was opened by Lady Galway this morning, Mrs. James 13egg, Dominion president, introducing her. Lady Galway spoke of the wonderful work accomplished by the society for motherhood and the nation, and of the debt of the whole Englishspeaking race to Sir Truby King. She emphasised the value of conferences for the reason that every movement had to bo kept up-to-date. The conference expressed its sense of obligation to Sir Truby King and its regret at his, inability to attend.

Lady Galway presented to Mrs. Joseph McGeorge, former Dominion president, a handsomo illustrated history of the society's work as a tribute to heir long and valuable services. Several speakers spoko highly of Mrs. McGeorge's association with the movement.

Tho president, Mrs. Begc, in her address of welcome to the delegates, referred to tho many losses sustained by the society during tho year, and mentioned particularly the death of Mrs. W. B. Benley, Lady Loekhart, Lady Luke, Miss Pattrick and Mrs. A. F. Wright. The conference placed on record its appreciation of tho work of Lady Sidey, who recently relinquished the position of acting-Dominion president.
