ACTIVITIES OF LEAGUE At the monthly meeting of the Catholic Women's League, an interesting and amusing account of 'her stage experiences was given by Mrs. Carte Lloyd, who interspersed it with dramatic and humorous items. In the absence of the president, Mrs. O'Leary expressed Mrs. Pilling's thanks to all who had worked to make the recent fair successful. The treasurer, M iss Ormond. read the balance-sheet and congratulated the stall conveners on the excellent results, which had eclipsed previous efforts of the kind. One of the delegates to the National Council of Women, Mrs. J. B. Callan, spoke of the functions held in the Y.W.C.A. in connection with the recent conference and of the helpful talk given by Dr. A. B. O'Brien. Reference was made to the help given to mothers and those in charge of young childreu by Dr. O'Brien's address ou sex education. Branch reports were read from Waiuku and Dargaville, and the offer of the latter to dispose of 100 cookery books to assist th? league's diocesan charities met with appreciation. An invitation was issued by the Waiuku branch 'to members to attend a meeting there on October 29. The Matamata branch report included a proposed exchange of visits with the sister bAnch at Te Aroha.
