f JOHN COURT, LIMITED CLAIMS ON INSURANCE FUND A successful year's activity was reviewed at the 23rd annual meeting of the Insurance, Presentation and Benevolent Society of tho staff of John Court, Limited. Greetings were received from the D.1.C., Wanganui and Christchujch, H. and J. Smith, Limited, Invercargill, H. and J. Court, Limited, Hamilton, and J. W. Court, Limited, Whangarei. Tho last two firms sent representatives to tho meeting. A membership of 486 was revealed in the annual report, which stated that 283 claims for sick pay wero met during the year, £1215 being pfiid in benefits to tho staff. Tho fund was subsidised to tho extent of £SOO by the firm. Tho library report' showed that tho staff freo library contained 995 hooks and tho circulation for one year was 8222. t The election of officers resulted in tho re-election of the president, Mr. T. Davidson, the secretary, Miss M. Worsley, and tho treasurer, Miss M. lsbister. Miss M. Trewern and Mr. R. Watson were appointed vice-presidents. A social evening followed, the staff contributing vocal and instrumental items, fancy dancing and orchestral selections. A humorous one-act piay was produced by Mr. A. Blanks.
