SPECIAL RESERVE
TERRITORIAL FORCES CALL MADE FOR RECRUITS Applications are now being invited for tho first draft of recruits for the special reserve *,o bo attached to the territorial division of the Now Zealand Military Forces. At Auckland 50 artillery recruits will be enlisted, while 50 infantry recruits will bo taken at Christchurch. At Wellington 50 recruits of each type are to bo enlisted. The requirements include physical fitness, a required medical standard, British citizenship, and a height of not less than ,sft. 7in. Applicants must bo between 18 and 25 years of age. Recruits must bo prepared to undergo three months' continuous training, and for three years thereafter, to attend a course of ton cbnsccutivo days' training each year. During the three months' course the rate of pay will be 8s a day, with a deduction of 2s Gd a day for quarters l and rations supplied. On tho subsequent 10 days' courses of instruction 9s a day will be paid and quarters and rations will bo provided free. On tho completion of tho threes months' courso applications will be taken from those who desire to enlist in tho regular forces. Every effort will bo made to obtain work for those not thus employed.
