-.BELGIAN CYCLING TEAM WITHDRAWAL FROM RACE • (Received July 23, 5.5 p.m.) BORDEAUX, July 22 Insults, missiles and blows from ' spectators caused the withdrawal of Belgian team of cyclists from the •lour do Franco race while they were -Winning.
Earth and stones wc.ro thrown and Pepper was flung in the riders' eyes. The gates of level crossings were closed, flaying one competitor. The wrath of the spectators was due to the French riders being penalised r technical faults, the team's leader Reusing the Belgians of trickery.
