QUEENSLAND PREMIER

BY AIR TO BRITAIN ROUGH FLIGHT FROM ROME LONDOiN, March 28 Within an hour of his arrival at Waterloo Station, the Premier of Queensland, Mr. Forgan Smith, was in bed at the Hotel Vietoj.na. He had flown from Rome to Southampton in bitterly cold weather against northerly headwinds which were so strong that the flying-boat rose at times to 15,000 ft. in order to avoid the gale. The flying-boat was the fourth machine in which Mr. Forgan Smith had flown on his voyage from Australia, which was made in almost tropical conditions until the Mediterranean was reached.
