REPAIRS TO HIGHWAY
CAMBRIDGE-ROTORUA ROAD The unsealed portions of the Cam-bridge-Kotorua highway, which wero the subject of much unfavourable comment by week-end travellers on account of deep corrugations, are to bo placed in good order within the next few days The Main Highways Hoard's representative advised the Automobile Association (Auckland) yesterday that the corrugated state of the road was duo to two graders breaking down last week within 21 hours of each other. One grader, which had been repaired, Mas again working yesterday, and to-day it is expected that a heavy planing machine will be placed in commission and kept continuously on the road throughout the holidays. The association has been assured that every effort will be made to maintain this highway, which will probably carry a record volume of holiday touring traffic.
