THREE MONTHS IN GAOL "There is no doubt that he is a very bad thief, and there is nothing I can say in his favour," said DetectiveSergeant MeHugh when Alexander Bonnie, a hairdresser, aged 27, appeared before Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., in the Police Court yesterday. Bonnie pleaded guilty to . charges of stealing £1 2s in money, clothing of a total value of £lO 15s, and a camel a valued at £3 6s. 1 , . Mr. MeHugh said that accused had been in the habit of going round different boarding houses, booking in for tho night, and leaving the npxt morning, when articles were found to be missing. When interviewed on December 12 by a detective, accused admitted the thefts. He had been in trouble previously, and had been released from prison on licence in September. "His list of previous convictions speaks for itself," added Mr. MeHugh. Accused was senteiiced to three mouths' imprisonment.
