PRISON FOR VAGRANCY A sentence of three months' imprisonment was imposed on Joseph Hunter Montgomery, a labourer, aged 64, when lie appeared before Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., in the Police Court yesterday charged with being idle and disorderly. A constable gave evidence that he found accused lying under a tree in tho reserve in Waterloo Quadrant. He smelt strongly of methylated spirits, and had no coherent explanation to make about Ins presence there. "1 have noticed by looking at his list that he is no sooner out of gaol than ho goes in again," remarked tho magistrate. Charged with indecent assault on a male on December 3, James Laurence Finlay, aged 56 (Mr. Henry), was romanded for a week on counsel's application, bail being allowed in the sum of £IOO, and one surety of £H)O. A labourer, Aussie Harry Fielding, aged 21, who was charged with tho theft of a razor valued at 10s 6d at Masterton, was remanded lor a week on the application of Mr. Noble. Bail was allowed in the sum of £lO and one surety of £lO.
