THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE BUSINESS WELL MAINTAINED In spite,of the approach of the lioliday period, business was well maintained on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday. Inquiry was scattered, however, and prices fluctuated within narrow limits. ' Union Banks recovered and sold Is higher at, £lO (3s. After a transfer of New Zealands unchanged at 41s there •was still a demand at tho same figure. Commercials of Australia sold unchanged at IDs, but oilers later eased. A transfer of New Zealand Insurances was put through 3d higher at OUs .'id, while an odd lot sold at 60s. Holders later withdrew. Oilers for South British were Is higher at Dos anil sellers came in at Dos. In the first business since September. Renown Collieries declined Is iUI to 10s yd. Bartholomew Timbers were (3d lower than the last dealing in April. In the miscellaneous group Colonial Sugars moved up 2s Gd to £'K? Os, but btivers thou withdrew. After a .'■ale at late rates, (i.
