SOME GOOD DIVIDENDS SIR TOMMY'S FINE RETURN ROYAL APPELLANT IN FORM IMPASTO ANNEXES SPRINT Good dividends were a feature of the second day of the "Waikato facing Club's spring mooting at To Rapa yesterday, when Cuto Melody was tho onlv favourite to win and several moderately-fancied horses were successful. The best returns were made by Sir Tommy, who paid over a third of a century on the win machine and double figures for n place, and Son of tho Soil, whose place dividend was over a score and a-half. Philetnup, who dead-heated with Quadroon in the "Waikato Hack Cup, and Singara, winner of the Frankton Handicap, both returned double figures on tho win totaJisator and other good prices were those of Huskio and Lornacre, who repeated his first day's success. Tho course was in excellent order nnd tho racing was again good. Royal Appellant won the Hamilton Handicap, tho chief event, in fino stylo and Inipasto accounted for the Kirikiriroa Handicap, Mie open sprint. The attendance was large and tho totalisator handled £29.353 compared with £'18,6.13 on the second day last year. The investments for tho meeting amounted to £71,920 10s against £43,290 10s last year, an increase of £28,630. Results:—
