Miss Mcintosh, of Wellington, is visiting Mrs. J. ,F. Ewen, Remuera Road. Mrs. Peter Savage, of St. Heliers, will return to-day from a visit to Taupo. Mrs. Fred Hellaby, of Remuera Road, returned on Friday from a visit to Wellington. Mrs. M. M. Louisson, of Remuera Road,' returns to-day from a visit to Rotorua. Mrs. Temple Bevan, Upland Road, Remuera, has returned from a visit to Rotorua. Mrs. Stuart B. Mackay, Lake Road, Takapuna, is spending a holiday at Rotorua. Mrs H Vialoux left on Saturday on a short holiday to Christchurch and Dunedin. Miss Margaret Henderson, of Epsom, returned at the week-end from a visit to Taupo. Mrs. Kenneth Myers, of East Tamaki, left at the end of the week on a visit to Taupo. Mrs. Wilfred Colbeck, of Princes Street, returned to Auckland last week from a visit to Taupo. Mrs. R. Graham, of Poverty Bay, and Mrs. C. Smith, of Taumarunui, are at the Central Hotel. Miss Betty Goldie, St. George's Bay Road, Parnell, returned on Saturday morning from a visit to Dunedin. Mrs. Mervyn Reed, Garden Road, Remuera, returned to Auckland on Friday from a brief visit to Wellington. Mrs. Eric Rhodes, Waiatarua Road, Remuera, who has been visiting \\ ellington, returned to Auckland on Saturday morning. Dr. Jessie Scott, of Christchurch, was re-elected president of the Canterbury Women's Club at the annual meeting last week. Mrs. Alfred Watt, . founder of < the Women's Institutes in Canada and chairwoman of the Associated Countrywomen of the World, will visit Christchurch this week. Mrs. R. G. England, of London, who arrived in Auckland last week from England with her husband, Captain England, is expected to arrive in Christchurch to-morrow, to stay with her sisters, the Misses Turrell. At a gift afternoon given by the Avondale South Mothers' Union for the benefit of the City Mission, a presentation of a rose bowl was made to Airs. A. V. Grace, wife of the retiring vicar of the parish, and also of a bouquet made by oue of the members. Miss A. J. Freeman, assistant county clerk of the Paparua County Council (Canterbury), since its inception, has been appointed county clerk in succession to Mr. George Maginness, whose death occurred recently. Mrs. Maginness has been appointed assistant county clerk.
