EMPIRE TRAIN
CORONATION YEAR PROJECT TOUR OF GREAT BRITAIN [from our own correspondent] LONDON, July 25 The High Commissioners of the various Dominions are to nominate representatives for a committee to consider the project of an Empire train to tour Great Britain as a travelling pageant during Coronation year. The proposal is favourably regarded by Mr. Malcolm Mat-Donald, Dominions Secretary, and was placed before Empire representatives this week. Lord Elgin said a train touring Great Britain during Coronation year could be made to be at once a gesture of loyalty to the King and Empire and au excellent medium for bringing home to the British public certain points relating to the historical, pictorial and commercial significance of Empire countries. It was estimated that the cost for six months of a 10-vehiele train, including staffing and every other expense, would be £37,000. The committee will consider whether Empire-manulactured goods, as well as primary products, can be shown in the train*
