WOMEN'S DIVISION

Ngaruawahia.—Tho branch met last week, Mrs. S. lOnipson presiding. A paper on pioneering days was read by Mrs. White of Taupiri. A competition for shortbread was won by Mrs. Zimmerman. The sales table did well with tho sale of goods made by returned soldiers, also of homo produce, tho latter being sold for the benefit of branch funds. Mrs. T. Patterson acted as secretary in placo of Miss P. Hatton, who lias left tho district. Hostesses were Mrs. Hutt and Mrs. T. Patterson. Onewhero Junior Branch.—Members of the branch assisted the seniors recently to give a party for Miss Mavis Dyer. The junior president. Miss Kathleen Spraggon, acted as master of ceremony. Items and competitions were enjoyed. To farewell a member, Miss Joan Henderson, prior to her departure to tako up Karitnnc work in Auckland the juniors met at the residence of Mrs. A. Crawford. Games and competitions were enjoyed and the guest of honour received a "lucky parcel," On behalf of the members.* the president presented Miss Joan Henderson with a box of linen handkerchiefs. A practice in bandaging was held, also a competition for a guest towel, which was won by Alison Crawford. Harrisville. —A meeting was held at the residence of Mrs. Lowrv to consider the formation of a branch of the division. Mrs. Orr, vice-president of the Waitemata provincial executive. Mrs. Henderson and Mrs Dyer spoke on various aspects of the division's work. It was decided to form a branch and the'following officers were elec'ted: President, Mrs. Lowry, secretary and treasurer, Mrs. Escott, vice-presidents, Mesdames Arrowsmith and Barnaby.
