THEFT OF PETROL

LOCKS OF PUMPS SMASHED [from OUR OWN correspondent] HAMILTON, Thursday The locks of two petrol pumps at the Te Rapa service station, owned by Mr. T. E. Tidd, were broken during last night and 33 gallons of petrol were drawn from the tanks. The theft of the petrol was discovered this morning, when the pump locks were found smashed. The theft was a particularly daring one. for the station is situated on the main south road, where the traffic is continuous. It is believed that the foggy conditions that prevailed during the night helped the perpetrator#.
