CITY COUNCIL REPORT DISCUSSION NEXT WEEK Although the controversy continues around the nude statue of an athlete, which forms one of the most noticeable features of the new gates at the Park Road entrance to the Domain, no decision has yet beeu reached by the City Council as to whether the figure is to remain in its present state. The question will form the subject ol a report which the Parks Committer of the council will present at the meeting next Monday night. While the recommendation of the committee cannot be anticipated, it i# known that many members of thfl council are opposed to any alterations being made to the figure.
