MODEL AEROPLANE CLUB
Attempts to fly a petrol-driven model aeroplane, with n wing spread of 10ft., attracted much attention at the mooting of the Auckland Model Aeroplnno Club on Saturday afternoon. The model, which is owned by the club captain Mr. F. C. MncDonnld, once succeeded in lifting, but a heavy motor and a rough runway prevented further flights from being successfully carried out. Following are the results of the competitions held during the afternoon:— Novice H.L. —.1. Waldie (295), 1; A Macdonald (1.25), 2: Spar H.L.—W. B. Mackley (1m 51 3-ss), 1; 11. E. Allen (lm 18 4-ss), 2; K. Downey (lm lis), 3. Fuselage R.O.G.—R. E. Allen (lm 21s), 1; R. Truman (445), 2; H. Reynolds- (42 1-Ss), 3.
