VIEW OF DOMINION
OPINION IN AUSTRALIA NO INVESTMENT PROSPECTS New Zealand is looked upon by Australians as an attractive country for tourists, but they consider it has no prospects whatever as a place for investment or enterprise. That was the impression formed by Mr. George Gould, of Christchurch, who arrived from Sydney by the Wanganella yesterday after making motor tour, of 2500* miles through New South Wales and Queensland. Mr. Gould, who travelled with Mr. W. H. Montgomery, also of Christchurch. said they stayed for a few days at different stations in the course of their tour. Conditions varied in different parts, but the country was looking well, and pastoralists and wheatgrowers were looking forward to a good season. Referring to travelling conditions, Mr. Gould said the main roads were excellent and the secondary roads very fair. The black soil of the Queensland roads, however, was almost impassable for the motorist when wet, but it was excellent when dry.
