DOMINION LOANS

LONDON REASSURED NO FORCED CONVERSIONS Times Cable LONDON, July 9 The City editor of the Times welcomes the speech of Sir Austin Harris, chairman of the National Bank of New Zealand, which, he says, has allayed any anxiety about the Dominion forcing loan conversion. This writer adds: "If investors seemed to show exaggerated nervousness allowance must be made for the cumulative effect of shocks received in recent years not always from foreign countries. All friends of the Dominions earnestly wish them to continue to receive the most favourable consideration that can be accorded by a trustee to borrowers, but necessary contracts must be maintained in letter and in spirit and investors must be enabled to feel the utmost confidence concerning their maintenance."
