FRESHENING COLOURS

How gratifying it is when yonr coloured garments come out of tho tub looking washed, but not washed out I It is always worth whilo taking a little troublo to keep them fresh and bright. To prevent the colours running, soak your coloured laundry in strong salt water for about an hour before washing. Add some vinegar to the final rinso (a teacupful to two gallons of water). It is a good plan to tint the water with which starch is mixed when doing up coloured garments. Use strong tea to get an ivory or ecru shado, ordinary washing blue or red ink for blues and reds respectively, and a solution of saffron for yellows.
